An executive AI workshop should help your leadership team decide where to use AI, what to test first and who will own the next step. Before booking, agree the outputs you want to leave with: a ranked shortlist of opportunities, a practical exercise and a small pilot plan.
This guide explains what to ask for when choosing an AI workshop for business leaders in Ireland. These are suggested outputs to agree with your facilitator, rather than a promise that every session covers everything.
Start with a business decision
Bring one problem your team recognises: slow customer responses, repeated reporting, time-consuming document preparation or difficulty finding internal information. Describe the current process before choosing a tool.
Ask: who does the work, how often, what information is needed and what does a good result look like? That gives the workshop a concrete starting point.
Leave with priorities you can explain
Compare possible use cases against business value, feasibility, data availability and the consequences of errors. A useful shortlist explains why one idea deserves a pilot and another should wait.
- Priority: which task will we test first?
- Owner: who is responsible for the work and checking its output?
- Measure: how will we compare quality, time and cost with the current process?
Try a workflow, not just a prompt
A practical exercise might turn a fictional meeting transcript into a draft action list, then check each action against the source. Another might use sample customer questions to draft replies for a person to review.
The useful capability is being able to provide context, inspect the result, correct mistakes and repeat the process. Use sample or approved information during exercises.
Ask where AI agents fit
For an agent-building session, agree a narrow task and its boundaries in advance: which information it can access, which actions need approval and when it must stop or hand work to a person. Include a test case where it should refuse to proceed.
A prototype is a starting point for testing. Agree what further checks would be needed before connecting it to live systems or customer-facing work.
Turn the session into a pilot plan
Before leaving, record the first test, its owner and a review date. Decide what evidence would justify continuing, changing direction or stopping. Start with a manageable task rather than an organisation-wide rollout.
For example, compare a reviewed AI-assisted draft with your existing process. Record the total time, including corrections, and assess accuracy and usefulness. Faster first drafts alone do not establish a business benefit.
What to check before booking
- Audience: is this a leadership decision session, board discussion or practical team workshop?
- Scope: which outputs and exercises are included?
- Commitment: what are the duration, group size, price and preparation requirements?
- Tools: are accounts or licences needed, and what information can participants use?
- Follow-through: is any later support included or separately agreed?
Choose the format that fits
A leadership team may need to prioritise investments together. A board may need to explore oversight and accountability. Someone looking for individual practical experience may prefer a public workshop.
